Wine of the Week

The Dreaming Tree Cabernet

Happy Wednesday friends! Although I'm sure most of us are wishing it was the weekend, amiright?? Anyone else find themselves a little more high-strung this week with the election? Perfect time to grab a glass of vino, and just relax a little bit.

I first started doing my wine reviews with an episode of true crime each week while my boyfriend Randy was playing rec softball games, but softball season is over, and let's face it, I need a break from crime stories, this year is scary enough! So I'll just be dishing up a yummy new "wine of the week" each week with show recommendations and yummy food pairings! I can't wait to have a glass of wine and watch the new Bachelorette tomorrow night! Are you guys watching?? Anyone else just fed up with Clare and her crap?? Just leave with Dale already and let these poor men move on!

Anyway, this week I'm featuring a Cabernet, The Dreaming Tree. (you'll see a lot of these in my recommendations, I love a good cab). I usually ask Randy to pick up a bottle of wine for me on his way home from work, and this week he picked this one. I give him my budget, usually around $15-25, and ask him to look for a "pretty bottle". This smooth red comes from California's wine country and was "dreamt up" by rocker Dave Matthews and winemaker Sean McKenzie, and since it's under $15, it's sure to hit the right notes on your palate.

By the way, as I'm typing, I'm also holding Wyatt in my lap. He's been really attached to me this week, he doesn't want me to put him down for a second and screams at the top of his lungs. I adore how much he loves me and just wants me to hold him, but sometimes a girl's gotta pee, and grab a glass of wine!

*Sip, sip* Here we go!

Serve & store:

At 60-65 degrees. I put my bottle in the fridge for about 15 minutes before serving, and back in the fridge or wine cooler if you're fancy, between pours.

Storage:

Once opened, this bottle of juicy red wine should be enjoyed by day three (but...who makes a bottle last that long??)

Food pairings:

Okay, I could honestly drink cabs with cereal, but a good juicy steak would be divine if you're doing dinner. Otherwise, opt for my favorite, chocolate!

Enjoy with:

A girlfriend and The Bachelorette!

I hope you guys give this wine a taste! It's super yummy for how affordable it is! Can't wait to see what happens on The Bachelorette tomorrow! Have a wonderful week friends, and join me next week for a new Wine of the Week!
