#WCW- Lala Kent makeup inspo
Updated: Aug 19
Where my trashy reality TV binge-watchers at?? If Quarantine is good for one thing, it's catching up on your Real Housewives, 90 Day Fiance, the Best of the Bachelor Seasons, and Vanderpump Rules (which BTW has had a few of their cast members fired recently after details emerged that they had acted and said things of racism which I do NOT support, and it was absolutely the right course of action to immediately fire them and hold them accountable for their actions.) #blm
One cast member though who was not involved is Lala Kent, and I've always kind of had a girl crush on her. She's like, really pretty (so you agree, you think you're really pretty?). She's also a total spitfire and will tell you exactly how it is, and I love that sooo much. She doesn't take anyone's shit. She's also a bit of an exhibitionist, which I also adore, it reminds me of my streaking and skinny dipping days (yup...that's right). Plus, she has her own makeup line, Give Them Lala Beauty, which makes sense because her makeup is always effing flawless. I've attempted to do my makeup like hers a few times and it never looks the same, probably because I don't have her gorgeous face but it's whatever. So today while the babe snoozed for a bit (four month sleep regression ya'all...oy), I thought, what would Lala do? And put on some damn makeup. Here's
my product breakdown:
I always have to do my "face" first, and eyebrows. I'm naturally a ginger, so I feel like putting on concealer and eyebrows really creates a blank canvas for me.
Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation in shade 2.15 (I "faux) tan, so this matches better for me)
Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer in Light (I use this mainly under my eyes to hide the "mommy designer dark circles", it's absolutely the best concealer I've tried so far
Contour- Morphe Highlight + Contour Palette 8L Lo-fi, I contour with "Debutante", & highlight with "Supernova", these are great for my "faux" tan makeup looks
I have been adding extra highlights on the tip of my nose & cheeks with the Kylie Pressed Illuminating Powder in Ice Me Out. It's actually amazeballs.
Finishing Powder- NYX Mineral Matte Finishing Powder in Light/Medium, adds a translucent finish & absorbs shine. My makeup literally lasts until the next day with this stuff (ps you should wash your face haha)
Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Palette, like the OG Naked, but better. I shaded my lid with Blur & topped the corner of my eyes with Bribe for a brighter effect. Then built Bucked into the crease. I lined the lower lash line with Barely Naked, & dabbed a bit of Angel Fire on the inner corners.
I used Tarte Fake Awake on my lower waterline, yup put it right on there, because again my goal is to hide the fact I get maybe 3 hours of sleep per night. This stuff really opens the eyes for a "wide-awake" yes I've had 3 cups of coffee look.
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Intense Black is amazing for creating sexy cat-eye winged looks, the super fine felt tip is super forgiving with shaky caffeinated hands.
Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara was recommended by a friend of mine & now it's the only masacra I'll drop $25 on, seriously, it's something you need like now. I could apply falsies to this look but let's face it, this mama ain't goin' anywhere today haha
So I have a super defined Cupid's Bow & like zero upper lip, I'd get fillers right now if I could but they're like a million dollars so. I simply over-line my lips quite a bit to make them look fuller. I used NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner in Montreal, then applied MAC Lustre Lipstick in Plumful for a natural berry tint. I wanted a glossy look like Lala, so I actually took a Q-Tip & dabbed some coconut oil on my lips.
There we have it! I actually really liked this look today, it had me feeling put-together even though I have baby spitup in my hair & wore the same outfit from yesterday but hey, it's all about balance these days!
I hope you guys try some of my fave things I used today! I am a total makeup junkie, my bf calls my vanity table my Ferrari & he's totally on point, so I'll try to do some more fun things soon!
